The opening scenes of the story are fast and furious, dropping the reader right into he middle of the action with Russian vampire king Nikolai Vasilyev. Right from that very first meeting, the attraction and connection between Kate and Nikolai seriously sizzles.
Laura Kaye is versatile, a master of infusing her characters with such depth and vulnerability, intensity and emotional range, that it’s impossible not to feel a connection to them.
With the same passion and intensity of the first story in the Vampire Warrior Kings series, this novella hits all the right sweet spots to draw you in and keep you enthralled. The setting is well-defined but not overbearing, the cast is just large enough to feel comfortable, and the story arc is surprisingly powerful and addicting for such a small word count.
Holy hotness, Nikolai!
“You have to what, angel?”
She hesitated for a few short, quick heartbeats. “I have to…” The word on the tip of her tongue, she clenched her thighs together, burning for the friction he’d given to her moments before. “Oh, God.”
“You have to come, yes?” he whispered against her ear. Kate nodded, her stomach flipflopping at his tone, full of sin and satisfaction. One hand fell to her jeans, tugged at the zipper, ripped the denim open. “I want to wear you on my skin,” he said.
If you liked Seduced by the Vampire King…
If you enjoyed Seduced by the Vampire King for its tortured, sexy male vampire lead, you absolutely must read Laura’s first installment in the Vampire Warrior Kings series, In the Service of the King. Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-Hunters are also angsty and steamy, and you can’t go wrong starting with any of the first three novels in that series… Fantasy Lover, Night Pleasures, or Night Embrace.
Nikolai and his Katya not only steam up the pages, they make you thankful for all the special people in your own life… friends, lovers, and family alike. Seduced by the Vampire King is emotional and endearing, and I didn’t want it to end!
