Book Tour & Giveaway (US/Int): Author Jennifer Malone on writing your baddies bad and your heroes lethal
Let’s give a warm welcome to author Jennifer Malone Wright!
The Hunters of Vampires….
When I was coming up with the idea for The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter, I really wanted to write about the people who hunt evil. I wanted to, like…bring back the bad vampires and make them the villain not the good guy we are all in love with. I began with the idea of a woman who was a school teacher by day and a vampire hunter by night. Then, as I wrote, I realized that she needed a back story. So, I wrote the back story and Chloe was born, thus The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter was created.
I also realized that if I was going to write about vampire hunter’s, that I needed to write something different. I wanted my hunters to be born and bred to fight. So…I created a race, a breed of hunter. They were born of Angels and Demi-Gods, the offspring of the Warrior Angel and the Warrior Woman created a new warrior…the vampire hunter.
My hunters are different because they all live in a community together and are trained to kill from the moment they can walk. Some carry special powers or talents, but all have the blood of angels and gods in their veins.
My bad guys are bad, but still give you enough of them to care about what happens to them. They may not be all, Dracula like, but they are pretty bad.
This story is very different from others, in many ways, but that is the biggest reason. I incorporated a lot of mythology into this book. I love mythology.
I will probably write about good vampires, actually I did in my book, The Birth of Jaiden, but perhaps I see more in the future for the likes of the loveable vamps. But really, honestly, we all like the bad boy vamps don’t we? I mean, Eric Northman…Hellooo!
