Book Tour & Gìveaway: Author Louisa Bacio on voodoo warnings while writing Chains of Silver

Welcome Louisa Bacio, author of The Vampire, the Witch, and the Werewolf to GraveTells today!

Are you superstitious?

I don’t mean simply saying “bread and butter” if you’re walking with someone and need to split around a pole or a trash can. But, really … like afraid to cross someone known to practice witchcraft or invite spirits into your life?

What about Voodoo? I’ve got a healthy respect for Voodoo and its practices. I don’t know too much about the religion and at the same time I don’t want to delve too deeply into it. And, I certainly don’t want to get on anyone’s “naughty” list for being disrespectful.

That said, my erotic paranormal series The Vampire, The Witch & The Werewolf contains subjects related to Voodoo and its history. (It’s New Orleans and in the world of paranormal it’s impossible to avoid.) While writing the first novel A New Orleans Threesome, right when I got to the intense scenes a chill overcame me, and my front door blew open with an eerie creak.

In the second novel Chains of Silver, I did some research of spells. You know, if you ever want to keep a man from straying, supposedly you drop a bit of your blood in his coffee (not advised, BTW). There also is a grave-robbing scene, and it’s not just any tomb – it’s one of the supposed resting places of Marie Laveau. In the middle of the creative process, I took a break and checked my Facebook account. Guess how many friends? The dreaded 666!

I quickly got distracted, jumped onto Twitter and requested someone to kick me past that point. And, fortunately, there were answers to my call!

Coincidence? Warning?

Who really knows … but I tread carefully.

Currently, I’m working on the next book in the series The Voodoo King, which is slated for publication in Spring 2012. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

So, how much do you believe?  One commenter will be entered to win a box of Sweethearts featuring Twilight Eclipse.  Recently came across these goodies, and couldn’t help buy some as giveaways.  (U.S. for mailing only. If you’re international, you can choose one electronic book from my backlist.)

The Vampire, The Witch & The Werewolf: Chains of Silver

Adopted at birth, Silver Ashe discovers her blood-brother Trevor Pack is a werewolf, with a vampire and witch for lovers. All her teachings about the evils of the paranormal Others come into question. She runs to a family friend, Nick, for help.

Nick Stake takes his hobby as a vampire hunter personally. He strives to rid the world of evil bloodsuckers. When his best friend’s “kid” sister comes to him for advice, Nick discovers Silver’s more than grown up. He battles his growing desire for Silver and blindly holds true to his convictions.

Once Silver reaches her sexual maturity, she’ll inherit her full genetic heritage and turn into a werewolf. When death comes calling, Silver and Nick must face their darkest fears in order to break free from the chains that bind.
