Book Tour & Giveaway (US): Katie Reus on carving out that essential “me” time

Please help me welcome Primal Possession author Katie Reus!

Thanks so much to the gang at Grave Tells for having me here today! Last time I was here we did a hilarious interview that is still one of my favorites to date. I’m so glad they’re letting me come back to hang out again.

I work from home (full time writer!) and I also watch my young son during the day so carving out time to write, let alone have free time, can sometimes be a challenge. But, my mother is one of those people who always insisted that wives/mothers/women have their ‘me time’. And her words are something I’ve taken to heart, especially now that I’m a mom myself. Carving out time alone to read or time to just decompress can be a challenge, but it’s what keeps me sane sometimes. Reading is what I consider my time and I won’t give it up.

I like to walk in the mornings, mostly for exercise but also because I get to ‘read’ on my walks. I listen to audio books on my ipod and sometimes I stretch my walks out longer because I’m not ready to stop listening. This is a huge part of my daily and weekly ‘Katie time’. I also like to bring my kindle with me when I go places because I never know when I’ll have a chance to read; like in the bank drive through, stuck in a traffic jam or a long wait at the pediatrician’s office. Or on those rare occasions I can carve out time to get a pedicure (hee, soooo rare) I definitely bring my kindle! I can’t imagine my life without books so no matter what, I always find time to read.

What about you? What do you do for your ‘me time’? Or how do you ensure that you carve out a little ‘me time’? Leave a comment and be entered to win a copy of Primal Possession (US ONLY), releasing 9/4/2012.

To protect her, he will unleash the beast within…

As his pack’s second-in-command, lupine shifter Liam Armstrong gives orders and takes what he wants—until he meets red-headed, blue-eyed December McIntyre. Liam knows the human beauty is his intended mate the moment he sees her, but December is far too strong-willed to accept his protection.

December, whose brother is the town sheriff, has every reason to mistrust shifters after one killed her youngest sibling. But the forceful and handsome Liam has gotten under her skin in a way she hadn’t thought possible, and the desire she feels for him is almost too much to bear.

When a radical hate group targets all humans known to sympathize with paranormal beings, December is attacked in her bookstore. Reluctantly, she turns to the only one who can help her: Liam. And he is going to take her to places within herself she never knew existed.
