Review: Bewitch (Vampire Erotic Theatre #5) by Felicity E. Heaton
A pretty fast-paced story without the feeling of being rushed, Bewitch is sure to please a wide range of audiences. Fans and newcomers to the series alike will enjoy reading along as Payne and Elissa ignite the pages. Although the 5th book in the series, the story is easy to follow, with very few snags where someone unfamiliar with the previous books may get confused. Bewitch is a recommended read!

So many vampires, so little time. Every paranormal romance author’s goal is to make their shifter, their vampire, their “other” being unique to the reader. Often time they fail, not that we, who adore reading paranormal mind so long as we get our story, right? But every time we pick up a new book we hope against all hope that this one will be different. Well search no more. Unlike the vampires you may be used to, Heaton’s vampires have a touch of the dark in them. Not dark and sinister, but dark sexual preferences. You won’t find any sparkly vampires here! The vampires of Vampirerotique run an erotic theater, which you already know if you are familiar with the series. This however is not about the theater nor does it take place in the theater. For the first time Heaton takes her vampire out of the theater and sends him on a quest.
Payne is a loner, not feeling like he quite fits in. But at the theater he feels more at home than he has in a long time. Which is why he agrees to retrieve an item for Chica. A vampire/incubus hybrid, Payne feels only contempt for his incubus side… a side he will now have to embrace if he is to help free his friend’s mate. Elissa is a witch on the hunt for something precious that was taken from her and she means to get it back, even if she has to lie to Payne to do so. Witches and vampires are always at odds, so these two shouldn’t even like each other. So of course, poetic justice dictates that they can’t keep their hands off each other.
Even vampires are poets at heart…
Smudges of black ash dotted her pale face but Payne didn’t notice them.
She was beautiful.
Her silvery eyes sparkled like stars.
A little humor in a tense situation…
“And I’m going to make you submit to me every night.”
Payne purred inside at that but put on his best poker face. “You can try, Witch.”
She smiled sassily. “And I will succeed, Vampubus.”
“Vampubus? Seriously?” He frowned at her.
His frown became a black scowl.
The tortured vampire gets his happy ending…
“Pretty colours,” she said, afraid of asking him outright whether he returned the feelings she had confessed she felt for him for him just minutes ago.
“Only one emotion has that shade in it, and it will always be there when I’m with you… even when my incubus nature is in control.” He captured her hand and brought it to his lops, pressing a kiss to it.
Elissa raised her eyes to meet his. Her voice shook. “Because you’re in love with me?”
“Because I’m in love with you.” He nodded and relief swept through her, chasing away the last of her fear.
