Micro-Review: Taste the Heat (a Love and Games novel) by Rachel Harris

Taste the Heat (Love and Games, #1)Taste the Heat by Rachel Harris
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Taste the Heat is a charming, heartfelt story about old love, unexpected betrayal, and finding yourself through the ashes of a painful past. Colby and Jason’s story is both sweet and alluring, leaving you feeling satisfied and full of hope. He is a great hero – gentle, confident, and courageous – and she is beautifully flawed with a welcoming personality. And Emma, Jason’s daughter, is an adorable little tornado of a preteen who very nearly stole the show!

Taste the Heat is a quick and engaging read with emotional depth and a lovely Happy-Ever-After. All the characters are very likable and the New Adult genre keeps the heat rating on this story low, meaning there’s nothing explicit or overtly sexually to distract from the flow of the romance. This book is a recommended read! If you’re a fan of this genre of books, sweet romance without the bite, you may also like Kissing the Maid of Honor by Robin Bielman.
