What happened to the June Readers Choice awards?

If you’re a regular reader of ours, you probably noticed something missing from this month’s post lineup… the monthly Readers Choice awards!  No, we didn’t suddenly decide to stop hosting them – that’s my favorite part of the month!  =)

Things have been really hectic for me lately, as I’ve accepted a new job, packed up my life and my family and moved halfway across the country… all in the last 6 weeks.  It happened very fast and, while I’m excited about the new company I’ll be working with, I’m also dead tired.  Completely exhausted!  I’ve mostly been keeping up with everything that was scheduled on GT, but just didn’t have the extra time to do the end-of-month voting event.  It generally takes about 3 hours to setup and another 3 or so to finish and announce, not counting promoting it on social media and emailing all the authors nominated.  So, while I love it and I know you guys to too, I couldn’t make it happen this month.

Here’s the deal. At the end of July, we’ll do both June and July’s voting and awards, and I’ll extend the voting for an extra day (4 instead of 3).  The sidebar is going to be a little crowded in August, with all those books displayed, but that’s just more awesomeness for you guys to look at, right?  *grin*

Thanks so much for all your support and for continuing to faithfully read our blog.  I love running GT and meeting all the great readers, authors, publishers, and agents every month.  It’s honestly what I look forward to most in the day.

Indiependence Week starts tomorrow. It’s going to be a fan-tastic celebration of self-published and small press authors, so be sure to check back daily for new editorials from some awesome authors (seriously, wait til you see who we have in store for you!) and new chances to enter the giveaway!
